There are two main reasons you may consider grinding in World of Warcraft.

Grinding is a still popular way to get ahead in World of Warcraft. --By all means, pick skinning as a profession. This cannot be underestimated. At least half of the mobs you kill while you grind will be skinnable. Most everything you skin will sell well at the auction houses, giving your gold earnings a nice boost.
